Editor's Note
As the leaves turn and we enter the season of change, I find myself reflecting on the profound influence of the women who came before me, especially my grandmother, Luester Miller. This fall issue of Possible Woman Magazine is dedicated to her memory—a woman of strength, resilience, and grace, who fought a battle against breast cancer that was discovered too late. Ten months before she passed, I lost my mother at just 35 years old to kidney failure. The heartbreak of losing my mom took a toll on my grandmother, and within weeks, her own health took a drastic turn. For as long as I can remember, her left breast had always seemed different. But it wasn't until the final days, when she began to bleed, that the true severity of her illness became clear.
This issue is not just about remembering my grandmother and mother, but it's also a call to action for every woman reading this. There are resources, screenings, and support systems available, and it's imperative that we take our health into our own hands. We cannot allow our fears or the demands of our busy lives to prevent us from seeking the care we need.
In this special edition, we are honored to feature the stories of two incredible women, Tatisa C. Joiner and Leslie Ferris Yerger, who have walked their own paths of breast health challenges. They share their journeys with us, offering insights and strategies on how you can be proactive about your breast health. Their courage and determination are a testament to the strength that lies within each of us.
While Possible Woman Magazine is dedicated to empowering female entrepreneurs, it is my deepest hope that your business journey is only a part of the fulfilling life you lead. Your mental and physical health are paramount, and I urge you to make them a priority. The success of your business is only as strong as your well-being, and I pray that you take the time to nurture both.
As you flip through the pages of this issue, may you be inspired not only to grow your business but also to take control of your health. Remember, you are not alone—there is a community of women ready to support and uplift you.
With Love and determination,
