The CEO's Guide to Intentional Travel: Work Anywhere, Thrive Everywhere

June 01, 20257 min read

In today’s fast-paced business world, many women entrepreneurs are seeking more than just success they're searching for alignment. For me, that alignment came when I embraced the freedom to work from anywhere, not as an escape, but as a strategic lifestyle. I like to call it intentional travel, a lifestyle that supports growth, deepens creativity, and enables me to thrive both personally and professionally.

This isn’t about being constantly on the move for the sake of it. It’s about being in the right place at the right time, fueled by clarity, purpose, and flexibility. As a snowbird CEO, I've learned how to take my business on the road, building my brand and community with each stop. Along the way, I’ve uncovered essential strategies that I want to share with you, tools that can help any woman entrepreneur live, work, and thrive intentionally, no matter where she finds herself.

Rooted in Purpose, Not Just Place

During the first quarter of 2025, I flew to New York City to experience a deeply meaningful and high-energy moment, witnessing the 2nd anniversary of HERstory Unveiled billboard on New York Times Square and then embarked on a 15-state journey by car in less than 30 days. It was surreal and powerful, not just for what it represented, but for how it symbolized resilience, growth, and everything that led to it.

Within those 30 days, my husband fulfilled a bucket list moment by hiking the Grand Canyon with our son… his own three-day milestone after beating stage 3 lung cancer. To witness this moment reminded me how intertwined our personal and professional journeys can be when we allow ourselves the freedom to move, reflect, and grow.

These travels weren’t just about checking off destinations, they were an opportunity to fully infuse my CEO identity with space for reflection and clarity. The freedom to move allowed me a way to lead from a place of inspiration and alignment, rather than stress and exhaustion.

As I moved into the second quarter, I made another major life shift. My husband and I broke our lease in Florida so that we could embrace looking for our forever home in Colorado to be near our granddaughter and soon to be grandson! First stop… the Midwest, so on June 3rd, we arrived at our family’s cabin which is always a sanctuary for creative reflection for me.

This cabin, surrounded by nature and peace, becomes more than just a resting place. This time, though… it marks a new season of business clarity and personal renewal. It is where I began drafting the next phase of my work and reflecting on the possibilities ahead.

This journey of movement and stillness has been a reminder that it’s not just the high energy that wins that matter. Sometimes, the quiet moments by a lake, on a porch, with a journal or a good book are where my greatest strategies are born.

Environments That Energize

Each place we visit leaves an imprint. For me, the lake cabin has become my sacred space. It’s where I draft strategies, write content, and reconnect with what truly matters. On the other hand, locations like Times Square challenge me to think bigger and show up more boldly. The Grand Canyon reminded me of life’s vastness and the power of perspective.

Rather than choosing destinations based on trends or escape, I choose spaces that refuel me. In doing so, I protect my energy and enhance my productivity.

This lifestyle has taught me that it’s not just about where you go, it’s about how those places support the energy you need for the season you’re in. Whether it’s rest, creativity, focus, or celebration, the right environment makes all the difference.

Honoring Both Hustle and Healing

Travel doesn’t always have to be tied to achievement. Sometimes it’s about honoring your healing. I’ve learned to make space for both.

In between filming, events, and content creation, I’ve intentionally built in “nothing days.” These are moments for me to pause, breathe, and restore. On the flip side, I’ve constantly working to elevate the experience that my business has to offer to other amazing women.

By honoring both the hustle and the healing, I’ve created a rhythm that’s sustainable. It allows me to stay present in my business while also being present in my life. For women who often feel they must choose between scaling and slowing down, I want to offer this reminder: you’re allowed to do both.

Planning with Strategy, Not Spontaneity

Too often, we romanticize the digital nomad lifestyle as spontaneous and free flowing. But sustainable, impactful travel takes planning, especially as a CEO.

I plan my travel calendar the same way I plan business launches: with quarterly milestones. Whether I’m mapping out a new program, hosting an event, or organizing content for Possible Woman Magazine, I align my projects with environments that support my focus. Sometimes that’s a quiet retreat in the mountains. Other times, it’s a vibrant city like New York where collaboration thrives.

Intentional travel begins by asking: Where will I be most inspired to do the work that matters? When will I need solitude, and when will I need stimulation? How can I align my location with my goals?

Answering those questions is the difference between a hectic itinerary and a life by design.

Community That Travels With You

To truly thrive as a mobile CEO, you need systems that support your freedom. This includes:

  • A reliable tech stack: I travel with a laptop, a portable monitor, a mobile hotspot, and noise-canceling headphones.

  • Cloud-based tools: Project management platforms like Asana and content hubs like Canva allow me to run my business from any location.

  • Streamlined workflows: I automate what I can like onboarding and email sequences so I can stay focused on impact rather than tasks.

  • Flexible scheduling: My calendar includes built-in buffers around travel days, giving me room to breathe and reset.

These aren’t luxuries, they’re necessities. They allow me to stay consistent, even when the backdrop changes.

When used intentionally, travel doesn’t slow you down. It sharpens your vision, broadens your impact, and renews your leadership.

Travel as a Growth Strategy

It’s easy to think of travel as a reward. But for me, it’s a business tool. My travels provide market insights, fresh perspectives, creative energy, and collaboration opportunities. They help me reflect on what’s working, what’s evolving, and what needs to be released.

Intentional Travel Is for Every Woman CEO

Whether you’re a full-time snowbird, planning your first retreat, or simply craving a shift in scenery, this lifestyle is available to you. It’s not about having all the answers or resources; it’s about making a decision to move with purpose.

Ask yourself:

  • What kind of environment supports my creativity and focus?

  • How can I design my calendar to include both travel and rest?

  • Where do I feel most like myself and how can I work from there more often?

This isn’t about chasing freedom. It’s about designing a life where freedom supports your growt

Final Thoughts

Intentional travel has changed the way I live, work, and lead. It has allowed me to honor life’s seasons, embrace possibility, and remain deeply aligned with my mission to empower women. From cabin mornings to city celebrations, each destination adds something valuable to the story I’m building and to the legacy I hope to leave.

As CEOs, our work isn't just about results. It’s about how we live while creating those results. And if travel calls out to you, let it be a tool not a temptation. Let it remind you that your business can move with your values, and your vision can stretch across any border.

Work anywhere. Thrive everywhere. That’s the power of doing business on purpose.
