We are going to explore the amazing world of Chakras as well as the wisdom and healing that they hold.
Chakra simply put, means a Wheel or a Disc.
It comes from the Sanskrit language and means “Wheel” or “Turning”.
Our Chakras revolve and move continuously.
Our Chakras are more than just wheels. They are our centers of awareness and organization. They influence our mind, body, spirit, emotions, and soul.
“They are the centers of our psychic energy.”
“It is a spinning wheel or sphere of bioenergetic activity emanating from our major nerve ganglias and branching forward from the spinal column.”
Simply put, they are our Central and Peripheral Nervous System.
I always say that, Energy is Everything and Everything is Energy.
Chakras are energy vortexes that influence our mind, body, emotions and environment. They are not just programmed into our core, they are our core.
Quantum Physics and the late and great Dr. Albert Einstein have proven that, “Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only converted from one form to another.” - Law of Conservation of Energy.
Medicine focuses on the body. Modern medicine has also looked at the mind and its influence on health and well-being. However, SpiMed (Spiritual Medicine) goes above and beyond the body and mind. It looks at the very core of our existence, Energy.
“Be really Whole and All Things will Come to You.” ~Lao-Tzu
In my humble viewpoint, Chakras relate to everything in how we show up, whether it is work, life or otherwise. It is at the core of what we do. If we change our thinking for the positive, we bring about good change, if we change our energy for the positive, then we are Unstoppable.
Energy is Everything and Everything is Energy. When we fine tune our energy, we have better health, wealth, happiness and show up glowing, ready to take on anything that work or life brings us, with a smile and a spring in our step.
The reason for this is that when we work on our Chakras and on ourselves we are strengthening our body’s defenses, improving our cardiovascular, immune, circulatory and digestive systems, diminishing fear, anxiety, depression and fatigue, enhancing our memory, concentration, ability to focus and improving our sleep, our mind and our inner peace, all while recognizing the purpose of our life and existence in this realm.
The benefits and rewards of chakra work go beyond our physical and mental well-being. The seven chakras represent the different stages of our human development. Therefore, by being aware and cognizant of them, we can actualize our full potential, as possibilities and opportunities that may not have seemed to exist, open up.
It is a wholistic approach that brings about physical well-being and enhances our spiritual awareness.
It is an absolute Win-Win situation.
Chakras influence everything from anxiety to addiction, depression to trauma as they affect our thoughts and our feelings.
When we work on our energy, we are not just trying to remedy an illness. We are getting to the root source of why the illness or mental distress happened in the first place. We are not just working towards the alleviation of signs and symptoms that come with a certain condition. We are working towards inner balance, harmony, wisdom, and reestablishing a healthy equilibrium.
This is not to say that we do not take medicines when warranted and just chant. Medicines have their place.
The purpose of energy healing is to build a strong immunity from the inside out so that we are not vulnerable to a lot of health issues in the first place.
A lot of ailments such as stomach issues, HTN, i.e. high blood pressure, and allergies, are not just connected to dietary, physical, environmental, and genetic issues, but to the emotional upheaval as well. It all goes back to good old energy.
There are many nadis (energy channels or rivers) in our etheric sheath. When a few of them (numbers vary depending on the school of thought) merge together, a Chakra emerges.
For our purpose, we are going to discuss the seven major chakras and how they affect us and our well-being.
The seven main chakras are:
Muladhara, our Root Chakra
Svadhisthana, our Sacral Chakra
Manipura, our Solar Plexus/Navel Chakra
Anahata, our Heart Chakra
Vishuddha, our Throat Chakra
Ajna, our Third Eye/Forehead Chakra
Sahasrara, our Crown Chakra
Our Chakras affect our body parts, our hormones, our immune system, our nervous system, our reproductive system and much more.
I always say that, If we have problems with our fruits, We have to look at our Roots.
Our Root Chakra which is at the area of the perineum or our coccyx (depending on how we look at it) is all about stability and security. Our Root Chakra is the source of our Life Energy.
Our Sacral Chakra which is the area below our belly button, i.e our lower abdomen and our suprapubic area is the seat of Sexuality, Emotions and Feminine Energy.
Our Solar Plexus/Navel Chakra sits above the belly button and is the center of our Power and our Will.
Our Heart Chakra lies at the center of our chest and is all about Universal and Transpersonal Love. It is the bridge between our 3 Physical and our 3 Spiritual Chakras. Our Heart Chakra gently reminds us that it is all about building bridges, not walls.
Our Throat Chakra lies in our throat, in the area of our cervical vertebrae, near our larynx. It is all about Speech and Communication.
Our Forehead Chakra sits in the middle of our forehead and is the portal through which we gain access and entrance into the spiritual world. It is all about Intuition and Imagination.
Our Crown Chakra lies above the head and is all about Spirituality, Awareness, Self-realization and Enlightenment.
Now that you have enjoyed a sneak peek into the world of chakras, we will continue our adventure in the next part, diving more deeply into the different attributes of the chakras and how they help with our healing and our well-being.
